The West Virginian Laborer’s Apprenticeship Program serves Labor Locals 379 Morgantown, 984 Clarksburg, 1085 Parkersburg, 1149 Wheeling and 1353 Charleston. The Apprenticeship is a statewide program that includes all of WV plus Belmont County, OH .

Eligibility Requirements

In order to be eligible to participate in the Construction Craft Laborers' Apprenticeship Program, applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Be physically fit and able to perform the duties of the craft
  • Pass a drug test
  • Possess a high school diploma, equivalent (GED) or pass the TABE Test administered by the Training Center

Applicants are ranked based on the evaluation results, and a predetermined number of the highest ranked applicants are then selected to participate in the program.

The West Virginia Laborers' JATC will not discriminate against apprenticeship applicants or apprentices based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), sexual orientation, genetic information, or because they are an individual with a disability or age.

The West Virginia Laborers' JATC will take affirmative action to provide equal opportunity in apprenticeship and will operate the apprenticeship program as required under Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, part 30.
